Switches are a type of track connection that allows trains to move from one track to another. Switches are divided into four main types:

  1. ordinary single right or left
  2. single or double crossings
  3. double one-sided (right, left) or two-sided (symmetrical, asymmetrical)
  4. curved switches

Besides, switches are divided according to:

  • rail types: 49 E1, 60 E1
  • according to return curve radii R: 140, 150, 190, 300
  • according to slants: 1: 6.6, 1: 7, 1: 7.5, 1:9
